Nexxice and Les Supremes headed to Worlds

Nexxice and Les Supremes were named to the World team today in Windsor, ON, where the 2012 Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships wrapped up after three days of competition. The Junior and Senior podiums were identical, with Nexxice taking the gold, Les Supremes the silver, and Xcellence the bronze in both events.

The win by Nexxice Senior was their 6th Canadian title in a row, tying the record black ice set when they won their 6th consecutive Canadian Championship in 2002.

The Junior World Challenge Cup begins Friday, March 11 in Switzerland. According to the event website, wccj2011.com, we’ll be able to watch online here.

I’ve taken the liberty of doing the time zone math for those of us in North America. I hope the advance notice gives you enough time to think of a good excuse to call in sick to school or plan to “work from home.”

  • Short Program: Friday, March 11, 10:00 AM-1:20 PM (Mountain Standard Time)
  • Free Program: Saturday, March 12 9:00 AM-12:50 PM (Mountain Standard Time)

No start order yet–the short program draw takes place on Thursday at 11:00 AM (MST).

Here’s to hoping the live feed works, and to seeing some amazing skating!
